DOUBLE WAGON WHEEL CHANDELIER
DESCRIPTION: Beginning with our customer's purchase of an entire old west 19th century wagon, 2 wheels were kept as the basis for this remarkable chandelier. An architect's design was followed for layout, general design, and to correctly size it for proportional construction. All of the hand-forged iron chain, strap-links and eyelets were then specifically designed and made. We tied in the vertical bars and eyelets to the wheels, then developed the hand-formed dishes, rigged to the wheels, and set up for alot of concealed wiring for the electric lights. Nine custom-made mica cylinder lamp covers were capped and installed for the final look to the lighting itself. All of the metalwork was then custom finished with blackening and darkening techniques for the final old look requested. Its total weight is pushing 500 LBS! Finally, it was placed very securely into a custom-built home on a large Pennsylvania estate.
