HUGE WOOD BEAM CUSTOM CHANDELIER
DESCRIPTION: A big old, solid 200 pound beam was selected and rough-hewn down to required size. With a general plan given us of drawings and ideas, we together with the designer developed this modernist variation on the rustic wood beam look by using solid iron rectangular stock cut through the bottom of the beam. Necks, large saucers and sockets were added to proportional size. Special glass cylinders were custom made to fit nicely, and then were specially antiqued for a very old look both lit and unlit. Final finish: sleek, satin black, adding to its already very cool futuristic impression, retaining its original rustic feel. It was installed into a large custom gazebo built on part of a vast estate in Villanova, PA.
